This lab provides hands-on learning to data analysis in conservation genomics using a Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) model. Students design and complete an original research project using real genomic datasets to explore topics such as genetic diversity, population structure, inbreeding, and adaptation in a system of conservation importance. Lab activities include working with bioinformatic workflows, data visualization, and interpretation using tools like R, python, and PLINK. The summary of the student findings are presented in a research-style paper and presentation. Corequisite: BIO 354. Prerequisite: BIO 230 or BIO 232. Restrictions: Juniors and seniors only. Enrollment limited to 18. (E)

[CE] JR/SR only; Prereq: BIO 230 or 232
