Psychology 391UU - S-Intelc Disab & Mentl Hlth

An introduction to the "other" dual diagnosis. People with intellectual disabilities are more likely than the general population to develop a mental illness at some point in their lives. Students will be introduced to how mental illness is manifested in this population and the medical, behavioral, and psychotherapeutic options for treatment. This course will be helpful to those going into such fields as human services, special education, medicine, and communications disorders. This is a core course for the DDHS certificate program.

Open to Senior, Junior, and Sophomore PSYCH majors only. Pre Req: PSYCH 100 or 110 We do not have a room available for this non-standard time. Non-standard meeting times are allowed from 4:40 PM on MWF or 4:00 PM on TT. Please change the time to a standard time or start at the non-standard times mentioned, or please assign a department room for the requested time.

Open only to students in the DDHS Program until registration has been open for a month. Then instructor may give permission to non-DDHS students to enroll.
