This class is designed for students who are currently facilitating student learning in classes, workshops, or other learning environments. This course provides structured support for student facilitators to implement engaged, critical pedagogical practices. Through practical exercises, students will learn how to develop classroom communities that are experiential, relational and social justice oriented. Class activities and assignments will be directly related to student facilitators' current work. Students will gain lesson plan/workshop development skills, strategies for creating more engaged and critical dialogue in their class/workshop, address challenges in facilitation, and ensure that their classes/workshops engage with diverse student experiences and perspectives. This course also provides one-on-one support, through which student facilitators are able to work closely throughout the semester to address support needs in their learning communities.
Course meets by arrangement and students must have instructor consent.
Permission is required for interchange registration during all registration periods.
