In this introductory course, we will explore theoretical, technical, and practical elements of community-engaged research, focusing on qualitative research proposal development and the multiple methods for conducting social science research on public health issues. One of our major goals is exploring strategies and techniques necessary for conducting sound research within community settings. We will use combination of lectures, class discussions, and individual projects to facilitate achievement of course objectives.
