Cognitive psychology is the branch of psychology concerned with the scientific study of the mental processes involved in perception, attention, memory, knowledge, language, problem solving, reasoning, and decision-making. In short, cg is concerned with the scientific study of the mind and mental processes (Goldstein, 2005). When you finish the class you should be able to understand, evaluate, and do research in cognitive psychology. You will be learning from both a text and primary journal articles. You will be asked to lead group discussions on the articles, participate in cognitive psychology experiments, and write a research proposal based on the course material. (Gen.Ed. SB)
Open to Commonwealth College PSYCH majors only. Pre Req: PSYCH 240 & 241 Majors restriction will be removed on or shortly after Nov. 25.
