Intensive writing course dealing with various topics in economics. Fulfills the Junior Year Writing requirement for Economics primary majors.
This class is open to Seniors and Juniors whose primary major is in Economics only. Pre Req: ECON 103 or RESEC 102 To request Department Consent for enrollment in this class, students must complete an Economics Department Consent Form and attend class to obtain the instructor's signature on the form before submitting it. Intensive writing course applying the tools of microeconomics to current topics. We examine the successes and failures of market-based allocations of society's resources, and the role government, and sometimes nonprofit organizations, could play in correcting market failures. In the recent past, we have looked at education, health care, gun control, tort law and land use regulation. Fulfills the Junior Year Writing requirement.
