The AS490 spring term course examines security issues, international institutions, foreign policy decision making, and military power. During this course, students will research and analyze how security policies are developed, how leaders make use of force decisions, and how unilateral and multilateral military operations are executed. Specific emphasis will be placed on understanding the role and function of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) with the capstone being a summer research project internship at the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence in Riga, Latvia (internship is available only to military cadets).
