Intensive writing course dealing with various topics in economics. Fulfills the Junior Year Writing requirement for students whose primary major is Economics at UMass Amherst.
This class is open to Seniors and Juniors whose primary major is in Economics only. ECON 104 & 103/RESEC 102 The Friday session is online only.
Fulfills junior year writing requirement.
.Subtitle: Political Economy of Inequality
Explores economic inequality in the United States with particular emphasis on historical trends, possible explanations for rising inequality, international comparisons, consequences of rising inequality, and public policy implications. The course employs an assortment of analytical tools and draws from the perspectives of competing schools of thought. The course relies on a ?blended? format that includes an online component along with two classroom sessions each week.
