This is an introductory course to radical social theory (formerly STPEC 190A). Our focus is the history of social thought in the West, and the post-colonial critiques of some of these ideas. In this course, students will learn that "radical" means "at the root," and radical social theory is theory that explains the roots of social inequalities and proposes ways of transforming society to achieve justice. (Gen. Ed. HS, DG)
Open to freshmen, sophomores, and STPEC majors. This course is reserved for Frosh, Sophomores, and STPEC students. If you are a Sophomore and cannot sign up, it's because the capacity for Sophomores has been reached or because you have enough credits to be considered a Junior. The professor cannot override you into the class. Emails requesting overrides might not be answered. If you need assistance finding another GenEd please contact your major's advisor.
Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
