Important mechanical properties of materials engineering such as yield strength and fracture toughness experimentally investigated with a view towards materials selection and design. Skills emphasized: experimental technique, statistical analysis of data, report writing, and oral presentation.
Open to Mechanical Engineering majors only. Pre Req: M&I-Eng 201, 211, 273 Students who register for this course cannot register for MIE 313 in the fall. Students who do register for both courses will be dropped from one of these courses by the department and notified by email which course was dropped from their schedule.
Multiple required components--lab and/or discussion section. To register, submit requests for all components simultaneously.
