WGSS 201or201HCS Please note that WOMENSST 201/WGSS 201 is a required course for both the major and minor. Students are expected to have prior analytical knowledge of the following terms: sex, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, class, disability, religion, culture, and nationality. They should also be able to articulate how these identities are shaped by and change the practices of science, empire, colonialism, capitalism, political economy, nation-state, nationalism, and feminist struggles for change. That is, students should be able to define these terms and locate them historically, geographically and transnationally within changing relations of power. You can refresh your understanding of these terms by revisiting the material covered in prior WGSS classes (such as WGSS 201, WGSS 230, WGSS General Education courses, or other courses with core WGSS faculty). If you have not taken WGSS courses, please download syllabi for these courses from the WGSS website and do the background work prior to the first day of WGSS 301. Without the necessary pre-requisite knowledge, students will be unable to keep up with the terms of the course.
Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
