Introductory vocabulary and definitions, descriptions of the dynamics of oppression at the individual, institutional, and cultural levels. Focus on developing personal awareness of social group memberships in relationship to two specific forms of oppression. Introduction to selected literature on two specific forms of oppression.
Open to Graduate students only. Open to Graduate students only. Class meets on Friday, September 4th and November 20th, both days 9am-5pm. In addition students will choose two weekend seminars out of four, Dates & Topics: 9/26--27 [ENDING YOUTH OPPRESSION] ; 10/10-11 [ENDING RACISM]; 10/24-10/25 [ENDING CLASSISM]; 11/7-8 (Ending Ableism). Classes will be held online.

Foundations Core required for 1st year SJE doctoral and master students
Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
