IMPACT! is a service-learning RAP. Through this year-long program, you can learn how to make a positive impact on the larger community around UMass, and you can find a place for yourself as part of that community. (Gen.Ed SB, DU)

This course is open to first-year IMPACT! RAP students in Melville Hall. Students in Impact: RAP in Melville Hall will enroll together in "Self-Awareness, Social Justice & Service" (Service Learning 192). This is a year-long RAP, developed and coordinated through the Office of Civic Engagement & Service Learning (CESL) which deeply integrates social justice theory and awareness building. In the Fall semester, students will deepen their understanding of our own intersecting social identities through reflecting on social justice theory, contemplative practices, and community engagement work. The Spring semester required course continues our thinking about community engagement and social justice while also reflecting on the concept of leadership.
