This doctorate-level course provides a comprehensive exploration of the multiple epistemological approaches in social sciences. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the range of epistemologies and ontologies that shape research, equipping them with the skills to critically analyze and evaluate existing studies. Emphasizing the differentiation between epistemology, ontology, theoretical framework, methodology, and methods, the course empowers students to design and plan their own research projects. By utilizing and illustrating the interconnectedness between specific epistemology, and suitable theoretical framework and methodology, students will develop the necessary expertise to conduct robust and impactful research.
This course is open to doctoral students in the Isenberg School of Management.
