Five Coll Ctr: World Languages 161CM - Cantonese/Mandarin Speakers VI

Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers VI is an advanced course in spoken Cantonese offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study and an evaluation by an outside evaluator, as well as collaborative contribution of course readings and discussion questions. Students studying Cantonese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Hong Kong and China and engagement with Cantonese-speaking communities, and to support course work in Asian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Prerequisite: Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers I - V or equivalent.

Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers is open to advanced and native speakers of Mandarin Chinese and heritage Cantonese speakers who have taken at least one year of college-level Mandarin Chinese or the equivalent.
