This course focuses on the role that grammar plays in shaping clarity, precision, and effectiveness across a range of academic and professional genres. Through targeted study of key grammatical concepts, students will deepen their understanding of how language choices impact meaning, style, and audience reception. Instruction emphasizes practical application, with assignments that allow students to draft, analyze, and/or revise texts relevant to their own academic and professional disciplines & goals. At the end of each unit, students will apply learned concepts by evaluating texts, typically in their own fields of study.
