This course provides an overview of the fundamental principle of forest ecology. It focuses on the abiotic and biotic interactions that shape forest ecosystems from the scale of individuals to populations and communities to regional forest systems. Specific topics covered include ecosystem productivity, disturbance and ecological succession, species co-existence and biodiversity, eco-evolutionary dynamics and plant adaptation.
