Nomination Process and Materials
We accept both self-nominations and nominations of others. The materials submitted to the FCWSRC for the Laura Lovett award should emphasize pedagogical work undertaken in the past two years, though they may make reference to a longer body of work.

In the case of self-nominations, applicants will submit:
A one to two page narrative statement outlining their feminist pedagogical accomplishments. This statement may outline innovative approaches to the teaching of material related to feminist history, theory, or expression. They may also outline the development and implementation of feminist teaching methods, including pedagogical approaches to accessibility, antiracism, decoloniality, diversity, equity, inclusion, and other areas of feminist pedagogical praxis.
Two to three supporting materials that document the applicant’s work in feminist pedagogy. Supporting materials may include syllabi, course assignments, etc.
One letter from a student or colleague in support of the nomination.

In the case of nominations of others, at the time of submission, the nominating individual will submit a letter of support (item number 3 in the above list). Following the submission of this letter, the FCWSRC will contact the nominated individual directly to notify them of their consideration for the Laura Lovett award. Should they choose to accept their nomination, they will be asked to submit a narrative statement and supporting materials (items numbered 1 and 2 in the above list) for consideration.

Award Timeline
The call for nominations is announced annually during the fall semester. Nomination materials are due in late January, and the decision is announced in mid-March following evaluation by the FCWSRC Director and Steering Committee. Exact dates are subject to change.
