Rape Aggression Defense: Basic Physical Defense for Women: The Rape Aggression Defense system is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. The system is a comprehensive course for women that begins with risk awareness, prevention, reduction, and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training. It is dedicated to teaching women defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault, by utilizing easy, effective and proven self-defense/martial arts tactics. The RAD system of realistic defense provides women with the knowledge to make an educated decision about resistance. Safety and survival in today's world require a definite course in action. Women will learn effective options for taking an active role in their own self-defense and psychological well being. All physical abilities are welcome and no previous experience is necessary but consistent attendance or making up classes is necessary. Formal classes will meet on Fridays at 1:30-4 PM between February 7th - 28th. Brush-up sessions will provided as requested both during the duration of the course and after. 5-College students will be graded pass/fail.
