A house has its stories, whether or not we tell them. How do buildings (specifically houses, dwellings) and the built landscape contribute to a piece of fiction? Students in this fiction workshop will spend time reading contemporary writers' works of location, and will begin to define and describe their own location(s) through fiction. Students should be prepared to write often with and without prompts, and commit to thoughtful and engaged responses to peers' manuscripts. Students will produce a body of work that demonstrates understanding of key concepts. Prerequisite: One introductory level creative writing workshop. Students should, as soon as possible, email the instructor about enrolling in the course: pmsDO@hampshire.edu
