When we hear "Entrepreneurship" our thoughts gravitate toward high growth unicorns, the next big thing, and an easy breezy lifestyle made up of travel, freedom, and setting our own hours. We think of great visionaries like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg. In reality, you have to be a leader, a manager, and a collaborator - and the entrepreneur's journey is a roller coaster ride of some highs, many lows, pitfalls, setbacks, guesswork, problem-solving and so much more. It is not for the faint of heart. In order to survive the journey, an entrepreneur must be equipped with essential skills, including self-awareness, resilience, critical thinking, effective communication, and management of people and relationships. In this course, you will explore and develop personalized strategies for success in entrepreneurship and learn effective communication, management, and collaboration tools. You will participate in management and professional growth topics, including: . Gaining deeper knowledge of self and others through the study of the Enneagram . Developing a personalized professional growth plan . Learning effective management and communication techniques through mini group projects . Exploring problem-solving through evaluating case studies
Independent Work In this course, students are expected to spend at least six to eight hours a week of preparation and work outside of class time. This time includes reading, writing, and research.
