This course provides an overview of theory and principles of human growth and development from birth through age twelve with emphasis on the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional components of development of the infant, toddler, preschool and school age child. This class meets Office for Child Care Services guidelines for the child growth and development course work requirement for OCCS teacher certification.
Mind, Brain, and Information Independent Work There is a lab requirement of 2 hours a week at the Hampshire College Early Learning Center. Students are expected to spend approximately 6 hours of preparation and work outside of class time, including the lab.
