In this course, students will learn to apply a variety of mathematical modeling and analysis techniques to the study of ecosystems including differential and difference equations, network models, and agent-based models. Students will learn how to analytically solve and assess some models and how to use numerical simulation methods to work with other models. We will also discuss fitting parameters and validating models. Prior experience with calculus is required, and prior experience with linear algebra is helpful. Keywords: Ecology, Modeling, Systems
