What explains the racial/ethnic differences in the diagnosis of psychiatric disorders that emerge from cross-cultural research? How do current debates about treatment affect research and clinical practice? Are there parallels between physical and mental health? We will consider these and many related questions, through readings, textual analysis, debates, and oral presentations.
