This course brings together several elements of Psychology through a special topic: medical decision making. In this course, students will study how patients make decisions about their own healthcare and how doctors make diagnostic and treatment decisions for their patients. Students will read two books written by prominent physicians who study decision making along with a set of primary research articles that will be available online. In addition, students will develop a deeper understanding about conducting research in psychology and writing in APA style. This course will include study design and data collection, and data analysis.
Prereq: PSYCH-200 or PSYCH-204.
