This course is a 300-level lab experience, bringing together several elements of students' education in psychology through a special topic: political judgment and decision making. In this course, each student will design a research study and collect and analyze data on this topic. Course content will include readings on research topics such as partisan identity, biased judgment-making, and political extremism. This course will contain challenging material. Most of our discussions will focus on Americans and American politics, meaning that political opinions and expression will vary. At many points, this course will cause us to reflect on our own values, as well as the values of those we care for.
Prereq: PSYCH-204.
