This course highlights the role of East and Southeast Asia in contemporary world politics. It focuses on Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand. The course analyzes how these countries interact with one another and with the international system as a whole. Topics covered include security, political economy, and human rights.

Prereq: POLIT-116.
