This second-level drawing course will expand on the formal, technical and conceptual foundations introduced in the 100-level drawing course. Grounding most projects in observational drawing, students will draw from various sources including objects and spaces that are unique to Mount Holyoke College. Emphasizing the notion that drawing pulls us into close connection with time and space collectively and individually, drawings will act as a record of this process. Students can expect to produce traditional and experimental drawings for their final portfolio. This course will include drawing and research from direct observation, photographs, and the live nude model.

Prereq: ARTST-120 or ARTST-131.

For art studio majors only for the 1st week of pre-registration. Then open to all in the 2nd week. Students enrolled in this course will be responsible for some of the cost of course materials.

Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
