Introduces students to algorithms, basic data structures, and programming techniques. Students learn computing principles by exploring problems drawn from a broad set of domains, such as cryptography, data analysis and games.

Coreq: COMSC-151L.

This course is programming-intensive and includes the topic of object-oriented programming. Students may wish to consider COMSC-150 as an alternative entry point that does not cover the topic of object-oriented programming.

Multiple required components--lab and/or discussion section. To register, submit requests for all components simultaneously.
Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
