This course examines current events in international trade and the rise of globalization since the 1950s. It emphasizes trade theories, and contemporary trade policy, while building an understanding of the evolution of globalization and the political issues shaping today's global economy. Topics include the expansion of regional trade agreements, environmental and labor standards, the TRIPs agreement, immigration, economic integration, trade disputes, and the impact of globalization on political views.

This course is open to juniors and seniors; Prereq: ECON-212 or ECON-218.
