This six-week lecture series will explore a range of issues that have an impact on girls and women's education. Faculty members will discuss topics that span Smith's own history, the broader historical development of educational opportunities for American women, girls' education in the contemporary United States, and problems and possibilities related to a women's education in the developing world. This course will serve as the gateway to the women's education concentration (pending CAP approval will be WEX 100). This course will meet during the first half of the semester. Graded S/U only (E)
