Topics course Introduction to partial differential equations to describe physical processes. Heat, wave and Laplace's equations. Separation of variables and Fourier series. Finite difference numerical methods. Applications to the life sciences such as chemotaxis, biochemical reactions/transports, cell cycle and developments. Prerequisites : MTH 211 and either MTH 222, 225, or 243 or by permission of the instructor.
