Topics course. This course examines the experiences of Muslim women in the Iberian Peninsula from the Middle Ages until today. Discussions will focus on Muslim women's literary and cultural contributions to the Spanish society. Students will also be invited to think critically about categories and identities such as woman, Muslim, European, African, Amazighi, and Mediterranean. Highly recommended for students considering JYA in Spain. A satisfactory command of Spanish is required. Prerequisite: SPN 220 or above, or the permission of the instructor.
