This course introduces selected topics in ethics and philosophy of sport as they relate to coaching and the broader conception of sport in a democratic and capitalist culture. Drawing on case studies and contemporary sources, the course examines beliefs about the value of competitive sport, its relationship to higher education and its implication for coaches.
