This lecture course explores a range of issues that have an impact on girls and women's education. In a series of six sessions, faculty members discuss topics that span Smith's own history, the broader historical development of educational opportunities for American women, girls' education in the contemporary United States, and problems and possibilities related to women's education in the developing world.
