Topics course.: Pending CAP approval. Explore the objects in our universe that go “bump in the night” including cataclysmic variable stars, supernovae, and black holes. Learn about the processes that cause some of the largest explosions in the universe as well as the extreme physical conditions where they occur, such as black hole and neutron star mergers detected by their gravitational waves. Prerequisites: PHY 117 or AST 111, and MTH 111 or equivalent.
