Topics course.  Normally offered both fall and spring semesters.: Theater as a form of resistance started in Argentina with “Teatro Abierto” in 1981. Since 2000, “Abuelas de la Plaza de Mayo” and “Teatro x la identidad” have brought the search for grandchildren, kidnapped by the military government, to the stage. “Teatro x la identidad” has also expanded to include issues like alternative markets, new immigrants, factories occupied and restored by workers and the plight of the organized “cartoneros.” After critically reading dramatic texts, newspapers and blogs, we then bring some of the stories to life in a final performance. No previous acting experience needed. Enrollment limited to 19.
Instructor Permission. Not open to first-years, sophomores
Permission is required for interchange registration during all registration periods.
