: This is a second course in linear algebra that explores the structure of matrices. Topics may include characteristic and minimal polynomials, diagonalization and canonical forms of matrices, the spectral theorem, the singular value decomposition theorem, an introduction to modules, and applications to problems in optimization, Markov chains, and others.
