This course has two principal aims: to develop public speaking and to enhance deeper understanding of repression, censorship and other forms of violence as they have made themselves felt in societies subject to dictatorship within the Spanish-speaking world. The objective is to give voice to that which has been silenced. Through multiple artistic means, visual and performing arts, including theater and music, we will reenact a past whose struggles remain unresolved, in order better to explain a conflicted present in today’s Spain and Latin America. For appropriate context, we will borrow from political science, history, sociology, and cultural geography. No previous activing experience needed. Enrollment limited to 12._x000D_ _x000D_
