This seminar is a practicum on songwriting. Through weekly creative assignments, in-class workshops, and listening, you will develop and strengthen your skills as a musician, performer, and lyricist. By the end of the course, you will have tried your hand at several songwriting and compositional techniques, and will have created and finalized work to be presented on a final concert. Prerequisites: MUS 110 or equivalent. Students should have a basic working knowledge of music notation and theory,
including harmonic analysis. Enrollment limited to 12. Instructor permission required. Juniors and Seniors only.
