This course will explore professional and ethical issues that relate to mental health professions. Professional and ethical guidelines from multiple fields will be considered. Students will be tasked with applying these guidelines to counseling scenarios. Issues related to boundaries, confidentiality, and client rights will be explored. Students will also consider the roles that graduate students in the helping professions are expected to hold. Students will leave this course having developed their own basis for ethical decision making in the mental health professions. Not open to first years. Prerequisites: PSY 100 and PSY 150. Enrollment limited to 25. (E)
