The arts have long been leaders and mirrors of social change, daring to move forward where others will not tread. In this course we take a step-by-step approach to Green your nonprofit arts organization, build community excitement while cutting operating costs, find and create internal allies, find financial support, communicate a Green philosophy to donors and patrons, identify and make substantive change, and educate and lead our audiences toward a green future. This course will address: staff/management resistance, the Triple Bottom Line, Green Team creation, spending prioritization, no-cost changes, and will walk students' Greening Plan. All course work is applied to a case study organization, which may be your own organization or one where you volunteer.

This class is open to Graduate students and Senior, Junior or Sophomore Undergraduate students only. PreReq: HM&FNART 500 HM&FNART 500 may also be taken concurrently, to enroll please contact the Arts Extention Service at 413-545-2360.

This course will be blended, and will physically meet once a week on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Graduate students will have work in addition to the Undergrad syllabus.
