Seminar requiring substantial participation, considerable reading and regular writing. Examines literary, narrative and cinematic works that portray law or that help reflect on issues of law and society. Works drawn from: A Man for All Seasons (Bolt), The Stranger (Camus), The Front (Film), The Floating Opera (Barth), If Not Now, When? (Levi), Sophie's Choice (Film), Lysistrata (Aristophanes), Cheneysville Incident (Bradley), Long Goodbye (Colby), Breaker Morant (Film), Constitution in Crisis (Moyers). Considerable Legal Studies course experience helpful.
Prerequisite: LEGAL 250
Legal Studies Majors only. Pre Req: LEGAL 250 Non-majors after pre-registration, 4/12.
