This course is an intensive 4-credit hour course that meets 2.5 hours per week, with critical reading, discussion, writing, and analysis of texts, images, and films as its components. It is an academic reading-writing course, designed for the undergraduate non-native speakers of English (NNS) writers; however, interested graduate students are also welcome to enroll. The students who enroll must have achieved, at least, an advanced level of English language proficiency. Using diverse global perspectives and content, students will analyze the positions of audience and purpose within persuasive readings and will use a process approach to writing expository, argumentative, and persuasive texts.
Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
