This course will examine the theory and practice behind these two widely applied near-surface imaging techniques. These methods are commonly used to explore and characterize groundwater resources and contamination and other environmental problems. These methods have also been used to assess structural integrity, for example rebar corrosion or dam leakage. The course will consist of lectures, problem sets and hands-on acquisition and interpretation of GPR and ER data.
