This course will approach the rich Mediterranean tapestry by focusing on environmental practices from a historical/cultural perspective and cultural mixing, including exchanges between Venice and Turkey, Europe and North Africa (from the medieval period to the colonial experience) and related contemporary migrations. Sources: literature, art, film, food, etc. (both cultural and historical).
