Legal Studies Majors only. Pre Req: LEGAL 250 Examines ways in which law, especially constitutional law pronounced by the courts, influences the adoption, political realities, and public perception of major public policy issues. Topics drawn from such areas as reproductive freedom, right to refuse medical treatment, end-of-life healthcare decisions, and affirmative action. Includes instruction in rudiments of library research in Law, Social Sciences, and Humanities. Interactive lecture, occasional small-group discussion, two objective hourly exams, final policy memo.
