'Argumentation & Debate' aims at equipping students with the tools and techniques for constructing persuasive arguments. The main focus of the class will be on those tools that will lead to success in intercollegiate policy debate: including research, writing, organization, response, cross-examination skills, and others.
The class will begin with discussions and exercise aiming at the construction of well-supported, logically sound arguments. This part of class will be research intensive and require students to work individually and with others. Following this introduction, the class will move towards students actively participating in debates, discussions, and structured argumentation.
Open to Undergraduate Seniors & Juniors only.
