English 355 - Creative Writing Fiction

A seminar in writing short stories and other fiction for students who demonstrate familiarity with the basis of scene and story. Students write regularly, read and criticize one another's writing, read in contemporary fiction. Prerequisite: ENGLISH 354 with a grade of 'B' or better.

Open to English majors only. Pre Req: ENGLISH 354 w/B Students should email a 3-5 page story to Professor Farrell (kfarrell@english.umass.edu). Application deadline is April15th. Students will be notified by May15th of their status. Registration after this date is possible, but priority will be given to students who meet the April 15th deadline. Registration by department permission only.
