This course provides a broad overview of modern image synthesis techniques. Specific topics include photorealistic rendering, global illumination techniques,
Monte Carlo ray tracing, texture synthesis, image editing and compositing.
Open to Computer Science majors only. COMPSCI187orECE242&M235 w/ C PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTER GRAPHICS PREFERRED. IDEALLY THE STUDENT SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CMPSCI 390CG (OR CMPSCI 473, CMPSCI 591B, OR EQUIVALENT). MATH (BASIC CALCULUS, LINEAR ALGEBRA) AND JAVA PROGRAMMING SKILLS REQUIRED.
